The plastic-sealed reed switch consists of a pair of tongue springs made of magnetic materials, which are sealed in a glass tube filled with inert gas. The end faces of the tongue springs overlap with each other but leave a small gap. Working principle:
 Normally open type: the magnet approaches, the switch closes, the magnet leaves, and the switch opens; (In laymans terms, the light is on when the magnet approaches, and the light is off when the magnet leaves. )

 Normally closed: the magnet approaches, the switch opens, the magnet leaves, and the switch closes; (In laymans terms, the light turns off when the magnet approaches, and lights up when the magnet leaves. )
